In this assignment, you will use the concept of abstraction to help a startup company on how to make a great first impression on their customers through social media. Remember, abstraction is the selective and intentional removal of detail.
Take some time to carefully evaluate the startup business profile of your chosen company.
Part 1: Social Media Platform
In the previous assignment, you identified two social media platforms that would be appropriate for your chosen company. Select 1 social media platform and begin visualizing your selected company within this social platform. Note: In the future (not yet!!), you will actually create a mock profile for your company.
Answer the following questions:
Which social media platform did you select?
Why do you think this platform is the #1 chosen platform for featuring your startup business?
Note: Everything from here on out will center around this social media platform and this startup business!
Part 2: Evaluate the Business
Evaluate the startup business profile and think about which data available about the company should be featured/promoted on social media and which data should not be included on social media profiles and posts.
Record your top three must-have elements and explain why each of these should be included.
Record your top three must-avoid elements and explain why each of these should not be included.
Part 3: Quantitative/Qualitative Data
Review the data you have chosen as your "must-have" and "must-avoid" elements.
Classify the data as being either quantitative or qualitative. Highlight the quantitative data yellow and the qualitative data pink.
After you finish reviewing your data, double check to ensure you have included both quantitative and qualitative data in your "must-have" section. It might be interesting to see what quantitative and qualitative data you have chosen in the "must-avoid" section as well.
